Course Description:
With the ever-evolving new medical resources, medications and treatments that are becoming available, more and more patients are able to live a
longer and more comfortably healthier life in today’s age. It is estimated that by the year 2030, 1 in 6 people in the world will be over the age of 60. The combination of the older aging population and the incoming newer
the aging population are going to create what is being called the “demographic shift”. With almost 20% of the US adult population diagnosed with some type of anxiety disorder, and a large amount of our dental
patients that will be in this “demographic shift” of the aging population, it is prevalent that we know how to best approach and treat our aging patients in the dental office, specifically patients who have anxiety. In this course, we will identify the signs and causes of anxiety in our aging dental patients. and how to apply some strategies to help relieve anxiety in our aging dental patients.
